Huawei Launches Advanced Energy Storage System in Bangladesh for C&I Sector

Huawei has officially introduced its advanced Energy Storage System (ESS), the LUNA2000-241KWH-2S1 series, for Bangladesh’s Commercial & Industrial (C&I) sector.

The announcement was made on April 30, 2026, in Dhaka, during a high-level launch event attended by industry leaders, factory owners, Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) firms, and representatives from key industry associations.

A New Energy Solution for Bangladesh’s Industrial Sector

As industries in Bangladesh continue to face increasing challenges in balancing operational costs with energy stability, Huawei’s newly launched LUNA2000 series offers a practical and efficient solution tailored to local market needs.

The system is designed to deliver high efficiency, enhanced safety, and reliable performance, enabling factories and commercial facilities to manage their energy consumption more effectively while ensuring operational continuity.

Key Leaders Present at the Launch

The product launch took place in the presence of several distinguished industry leaders, including:

  • Jason Wu, President of Huawei South Asia
  • He Lei, President, APAC C&I and Residential Business Dept., Huawei Digital Power
  • Will Yu, Managing Director of Huawei South Asia Digital Power
  • Md. Shahriar Ahmed Chowdhury, Assistant Professor, Department of EEE, United International University (UIU) & Director, Centre for Energy Research

Key Leaders Present at the Launch

Speaking at the event, Jason Wu, President of Huawei South Asia, highlighted Bangladesh’s growing position in the global renewable energy transition. He stated that the country is moving rapidly toward a more sustainable and energy-efficient future.

He also noted that Huawei’s digital power solutions have already contributed to generating over 430 million kWh of electricity and reducing more than 200,000 tons of carbon emissions in Bangladesh. According to him, Huawei will continue to support the country with advanced and sustainable energy technologies.

Will Yu, Managing Director of Huawei South Asia Digital Power, emphasized that Huawei’s PV and ESS solutions have already gained strong market acceptance in Bangladesh. He explained that the newly launched BESS solution incorporates a Cell-to-Consumption (C2C) dual-link safety architecture, ensuring superior system protection.

He further added that the system achieves approximately 91.3% round-trip efficiency through advanced hybrid cooling technology, which will play a critical role in strengthening energy security and accelerating industrial growth in Bangladesh.

Advanced Features of the LUNA2000 ESS

The newly launched system includes several advanced capabilities designed for high performance and reliability:

  • Pack Optimizer technology enabling up to 100% depth of discharge
  • Active balancing module to maintain higher battery State of Health (SOH)
  • Smart Operation & Maintenance (O&M) system
  • Automatic State of Charge (SOC) calibration for optimized performance

The newly launched system includes several advanced capabilities designed for high performance and reliability:

Industry Discussions on Renewable Energy Future

The event also served as a platform for discussing the future of sustainable industrial energy in Bangladesh.

Md. Shahriar Ahmed Chowdhury, Director, Centre for Energy Research, United International University, Bangladesh, shared insights on “Powering Bangladesh’s Renewable Energy Future: Challenges, Trends, and Innovation”, highlighting key opportunities and challenges in scaling renewable energy adoption.

Meanwhile, He Lei, President, APAC C&I and Residential Business Dept., Huawei Digital Power, addressed the impact of global geopolitical dynamics on the regional energy market in his session titled “How Middle East Tensions Are Shaping Opportunities & Challenges for APAC Commercial & Industrial PV and BESS.”

The event also featured real-world case studies presented by Huawei and its partner organizations, demonstrating practical applications of solar photovoltaic (PV) and battery energy storage systems (BESS).

Strengthening Bangladesh’s Energy Transition

The launch of Huawei’s LUNA2000 ESS marks a significant step toward enhancing Bangladesh’s energy infrastructure. With increasing adoption of solar energy and storage solutions, the country is progressing toward a more resilient, efficient, and sustainable energy ecosystem.

Huawei’s continued investment in advanced technologies is expected to play a key role in supporting Bangladesh’s industrial growth while reducing dependency on conventional energy sources.
